What began at Mauldin High School with the 100 inning game on October 26, 2013 has come to a successful end ( December 14, 2014 ). MAVS Booster club has been collecting shoes as a fundraiser for the athletes at Mauldin High School. We collected over 7500 pairs of shoes to keep them out of our landfills. (Recycle). To train underprivileged people in other countries, helping them create businesses for themselves and earn money (micro-enterprise). Also, to find other uses for the shoes that can not be repaired (repurpose).
While braving the cold rain, Girls and Boys Varsity Basketball teams along with
booster club members and supporters loaded a 26ft. Box truck with all the
collected shoes. They were so enthusiastic they broke out in song and laughter.
The driver for the truck commented that he was very happy to have witnessed such
excitement.
MAVS Booster Club would like to thank our community for your support and energy.
Save your shoes we will need them next year for our 2nd annual shoe drive
fundraiser.

The driver for the truck commented that he was very happy to have witnessed such
excitement.
